Apostolic succession concerns the transmission of episcopal ministry through consecration. The Church’s records bring together several lines through the jurisdictions united in 1897. Succession to the office of Primus is a separate matter from episcopal consecration.
The connected names below are a guide to the principal lineages. The register provides the individual ceremonies, dates and co-consecrators. A place of ministry is not treated as the place of an ordination unless the record says so.
Syriac and Ancient British line
Reformed Episcopal line

- Leon (Ghevont) Chorchorunian
- Leon Checkemian
Canadian Methodist connection — originating with presbyteral consecration
Understanding the lines
The Reformed Episcopal connection enters through Richardson’s consecration of James Martin and his participation with Stevens in Checkemian’s 1890 consecration. These are distinct ceremonies, not a claim that Martin consecrated Checkemian in 1890.
The Armenian connection requires particular care. Checkemian’s priestly ordination in 1866 is recorded. Whether the rank received in 1878 constituted episcopal consecration or the scholarly rank of vardapet is disputed. The Armenian connection is therefore retained as part of the Church’s history without presenting an unbroken episcopal line as established.
The Roman Catholic connection described in the historical succession chart runs through the Order of Corporate Reunion and its participation in the consecration of Stevens. The chart names Dominicus Agostina, Luigi Nazari di Caliana, Vincentius Moretti and Ignatios Ghiurekian, followed by Frederick George Lee, John Thomas Seccombe and Thomas Mossman in 1877. These historical attributions should be read with the documented accounts rather than treated as a new certification of orders.

Redaktionella och dokumentära anmärkningar
This register consolidates the Church’s preserved histories, episcopal biographies and succession chart. Documentary passages are retained in the individual record notes and in the complete historical accounts. Dates with only a year, season or range retain that precision. Missing fields are marked rather than inferred.
The Wikipedia articles on the Free Protestant Episcopal Church and Leon Chechemian were checked on 24 October 2026 for comparison. They contain conflicting dates and historical assertions; those have not been silently substituted for the Church’s records.
