Primus: Easter Message Primus: Easter Message Primus: Easter MessagePrimus: Easter Message Southampton, Hampshire, England, UK - March 23, 2016
As a community of international significance, no part of the Communion can ever feel immune from the terrorist activity and threats seen across the world at present. Some countries endure a constant problem of terror, with others, particularly in Europe, now beginning to experience it themselves. It shows how dangerous the world has become. The passion and crucifixion resound as an ever present reality in the heartbeat of creation. The Anglican Free Communion is committed to social justice, recognising the dignity of every human being in whatever situation they happen to be, and accepting them within the spectrum of diversity characteristic of just being a human person. Attitudes and appearances crumble away as each reflect the glory of the Creator, although many remain unaware of this. In the sacrifice at Calvary we see not only the image of a Man of Sorrows but the worse that evil can ever set out to achieve for any one of us, whether through the agonising terror of being in the midst of a bomb blast or on some battle field. Yet the final say is not with evil, for Christ has conquered and won the victory. The terrorising effects seen in a broken and fragmented humanity will never be the end of the story. That honour is attributed to the restored humanity in Christ. Jesus has taken the world to Calvary, but given it hope through the power of his Resurrection. In the Cross of Christ we glory and rejoice in the Easter proclamation: The Lord is Risen : He is Risen indeed. Alleluia. We share our love for one another across the Communion. With every blessing,
